This is a free online course covering the key aspects of coaching (coaching children for fun and success, managing a group, communication and behaviour, providing feedback, ages and stages of beginner players, basic cricket skills and learning about the Superstar Cricket Academy program). Available online, this course can be completed at any time from the comfort of your home.
The Advanced Foundation Course consists of online modules and a practical face to face module.The online modules cover many aspects of coaching (role of the coach, selecting a team, developing team values and culture, planning, how to run effective practices, match day routines and tactics, umpiring and scoring).The practical module consists of skills and drills and coaching experience.Recommended for people coaching or assisting 10-18-year old primary, intermediate or secondary school students playing junior or youth cricket for their club or school.To get started with the online part of the course, you will need to obtain a 'Join Code' from Willie Miller at Otago Country Cricket
The Development course is for the coach of 9-18 year old primary, intermediate or secondary students playing junior or youth cricket for schools, clubs or districts. The coach should have some knowledge and/or playing experience of cricket.
